Incumbents leading in several Pima County school board races

Incumbents leading in several Pima County school board races

Incumbents had an early lead in three local school board races, with more than 100,000 Pima County ballots left to be counted as of Wednesday afternoon.

TUSD

In Tucson Unified School District, five candidates were pursuing three four-year seats, with a trio of incumbents fighting to retain their spots against two political newcomers.

Board President Natalie Luna Rose was leading the pack Wednesday with nearly 26% of the vote, and incumbent Sadie Shaw was coming in second at 22%. 

Former Board President Dr. Ravi Shah had the third highest vote count, at a little more than 20%.

The trio was challenged by Esteban Flores and Pilar Acosta Ruiz.

Vail

In Vail Unified School District, current board members Callie TippettAlliison Pratt and Christopher King were challenged for their four-year seats by newcomers Laura Moore and John Mothershed.

Pratt was leading in votes, with nearly 25%, with King coming in at a close second, with 23% of the votes.

Tippett, the current board president, rounded out the top three with 22% of votes.

Catalina Foothills

Catalina Foothills Unified School District held two separate school board elections, with four candidates vying for two four-year seats and a pair of candidates fighting for a single two-year seat.

Jacquelyn Davoli was leading the vote count in the race for the four-year seats, with 33%, with Tom Logue coming in second with 31% of the vote.

They were challenged by Bart Pemberton and Jennifer Repscher.

In the race for the two-year seat, Board President Eileen Jackson was dominating challenger Brooke Arispe with 74% of the vote.
